PATIENT INFO: 20 year old female presented coincidently following a CT scan for other reasons
SUMMARY: This patient presented with an incidentally discovered posterior fossa tumor located in the left cereballar peduncle measuring 2.0 cm x 2.0 cm. Following initial resection, an intraoperative MRI was performed which showed a small residual nodule of tumor. The decision was then made to continue the procedure to remove the additional tissue.
In this case, intraoperative MR images accurately identifed an area of esidual tumor and then guided the additional resection.
