Head Fixation Device

The head fixation device (HFD) in a VISIUS Surgical Theatre is a robust, MR-compatible system that does not compromise image quality.  Constructed of composite materials and titanium reinforced gears, the HFD is both stable and durable and designed to suit a wide range of adult and pediatric patients.

Most importantly, the HFD enables optimum patient position for surgical access, which can be maintained for intraoperative imaging: 

• Patients can be positioned in prone, supine and semi-lateral positions 
• In the prone position, the patient’s head can be set lower than the table
• The low profile design of the HFD provides more flexibility to position the head in the MR iso-center
