Our Management Team


DAVID GRAVES, Chairman and CEO
David Graves was appointed executive Chairman and CEO in 2005. Mr. Graves joined IMRIS from Centara Corporation where he had been the President and CEO since 1994. Centara Corporation is a venture capital firm engaged in enabling the growth and development of technology firms.

Prior to that, Mr. Graves was the founder and CEO of Broadband Networks Inc. BNI successfully developed leading edge wireless telecommunications systems, and was acquired by Northern Telecom in January 1998. Before starting BNI, Mr. Graves held various executive level positions with Novatel Communications, Hughes Aircraft Company and Northern Telecom.

Mr. Graves is a 1983 graduate of the University of Manitoba Faculty of Engineering and the Executive Marketing program at Queens University. He is a registered professional engineer with a strong post-graduate background in biomedical engineering.

Mr. Graves sits on the boards of 10 technology companies and serves on the board of CancerCare Manitoba Foundation and other civic and volunteer groups.

EDWARD RICHMOND, Executive Vice President of Operations
Mr. Richmond is responsible for all aspects of product and service development as well as the expansion of our international operations.

Mr. Richmond has over 20 years of management experience across a range of both line and functional leadership positions in high technology industries. Prior to joining IMRIS, Mr. Richmond was the President of Corporate Strategy for the Standard Aero Group. He has also held management positions at UTL Corporation, European Helicopters and General Electric.

Mr. Richmond is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada with a Bachelor of Engineering degree. He is also a graduate of the General Electric Management Development Institute, the Wharton School Advanced Management Program and the Institute of Corporate Directors Education program.

RON SABOURIN, Executive Vice President, Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer
Ron Sabourin joined IMRIS in 2005 as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining IMRIS, Mr. Sabourin was Vice President of Centara Corporation from 1998 to 2005. Earlier positions include: Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer with Broadband Networks Inc.; Vice President, ABL Canada Inc.; and Vice President, Ericsson Communications Inc.

Mr. Sabourin is a Certified Management Accountant and has more than 20 years of extensive experience in senior financial management positions.

RAM LIEBENTHAL, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales
Mr. Liebenthal brings more than 15 years of experience in the field of MR imaging and Image guided surgery and is responsible for the continuing development of our Global sales and marketing efforts.

Most recently, he was the General Manager of Growth MR Markets with GE Healthcare, where he led highly successful, worldwide product launches from product definition to pricing, distribution and sales and marketing strategies. Mr. Liebenthal plays an integral role at IMRIS as we increase our presence in the North American market and expand operations into Asia and Europe.

Mr. Liebenthal holds a B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering degree from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and a Masters Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Tel Aviv University in Israel.

DENIS SUTTON, Executive Vice President, Human Resources
Mr. Sutton joined us as our Executive Vice President, Human Resources in March 2007, bringing more than 30 years of human resource management experience. Mr. Sutton was Senior Vice President of MTS Allstream from 2005 to 2007. Prior to that he was Chief Human Resources Officer for St. Boniface General Hospital. Mr. Sutton is a management member of the Manitoba Labour Board and the Council of Human Resource Executives for the Conference Board of Canada.

MEIR DAHAN, Executive Vice President, Research and Development
In his leadership role as EVP of R&D, Meir Dahan draws on an outstanding record in the development of high-quality innovations and an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction. During more than 16 years of diverse product-development experience, Meir devoted 10 years to fast-paced, rapidly expanding telecommunications segments and, most recently, spent more than 6 years in medical-device product development.

He brings to IMRIS an extensive background in the design, development and launch of commercial product platforms with Baxter Healthcare, 3Com Corporation and US Robotics.

Meir holds an MBA and an MS of Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and a BSEE from Ben Gurion University in Israel.

STEVE HUSHEK, Ph.D, Vice President, Technology
As the company's Vice President for Technology, Steve Hushek is responsible for identifying technology initiatives and strategies for further research and development of intra-operative MRI technology.

Dr. Hushek joined IMRIS in 2005 with extensive experience in intra-operative MRI technology. He spent thirteen years at GE Medical Systems in various engineering roles, culminating to his position of the Lead System Designer for their intra-operative MRI program. After leaving GE Medical systems in 1999, Dr. Hushek spent 6 years as the Technical Director of the iMRI department at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Dr. Hushek has a Ph.D from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has over 50 publications on intra-operative MR in a range of medical journals, as well as 5 patents in the areas of MRI technology and fluoroscopy. Dr. Hushek is a member of IEEE and the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine. He is also a reviewer for the Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Medical Physics.
